By The Lake

There she stands
At the edge of the lake
She sees her reflection there
And hates what she sees

The tears drop
From her eyelids
One by one
Splash, splash, splash

She is in turmoil
The reason for this
She knows not why

Her heart feels
As if it could break in two
There is a void there
But what would fill it?
Hell if she knows!
